The skin is the largest and most visible organ of the body. It reflects the health of the body and acts as a barrier against injury and bacteria. Sadly, at one time or another, nearly everyone has some type of skin disease that only a skin doctor can absolutely give the scientific explanation for those skin problems. Dermatologist is a medical doctor specializing on the study of the skin, diseases of the skin and the relationship of cutaneous lesions to systemic disease. Dermatologist is a medical doctor trained to usually combine several activities like seeing patients in public hospitals and/or in private practices, acting as consultants to other specialists, teaching and delving into clinical or basic research.

The dermatologist must have expertise in basic sciences including pathology, biochemistry, physics, physiology, microbiology and endocrinology. Because skin diseases are often associated with internal conditions, dermatologist must also be familiar with all the other medical specialties because of their consultant work. Dermatologist likewise perform skin surgery in several situations like preventing or providing early control of disease such as skin cancer; improve skins appearance by removing growths, discolorations or damage caused by ageing; and to establish a definite diagnosis.

There are several responsibilities that dermatologist has including examining patients, performing biopsies and other diagnostic techniques of dermatology, interpreting test results and evaluating examination findings before prescribing treatments, including x-ray therapy, physical therapy and medication. Dermatological services are as well managed by dermatologist like formulating plans and procedures for dermatological services, scheduling operation of diagnostic and treatment facilities, and assigning nurses, physical therapists, x-ray therapists and other medical technicians. The dermatologist advises on the types and quantity of dermatological supplies and equipment, coordinate dermatological services with other medical activities.

There are however several types of health care providers who can take care of your skin conditions aside from dermatologist. The first thing that you need to know about picking a skin specialist is the probability that you are really badly in need to see a specialist as sometimes your condition may not need the specialist. Therefore, it is important that you know when you really need to see a dermatologist. Some conditions are exclusively treated by a dermatologist especially with severe forms of common diseases such as acne, rosacea and atopic dermatitis. Most skin cancers are treated by dermatologist, sometimes in conjunction with a surgeon. There is also the dermatologist who utilizes various specialized laboratory procedures to diagnose disorders characterized by defective responses of the bodys immune system.

Getting a referral from your physician is a great help and of high importance in finding the right dermatologist who will be working with you. It is important that you are assured that the dermatologist has the right credentials for the medical procedure(s) that your skin demands. You may have to do some preliminary check that will enable you to be prepared and educated prior to your consultation. Such steps are critical as it will help you achieve a successful outcome. You have to have a give-and-take dialogue assuring that you and your dermatologist have the same vision of what you want the end result to be as well as your expectations are realistic. The communication between you and the skin doctor is of most importance as you are considering things about your skin or associated problems.br

Most every human being has had a battle with acne. In order to choose the correct treatment you should understand what acne is and how some people have more of a battle with it than others. Acne can be cause by genetics, stress, inflammation due to scratching irritated skin and the most common is hormonal activity in which we all know it as quot;pubertyquot;. In most cases over the counter treatments are successful in treating this type of acne. The key to kill the acne in this case is to continue to use the products available during the puberty stages. Although it has never been linked directly to the cause of acne, your diet can help with the prevention of acne. Drinking plenty of water helps to hydrate your body and prevents the clogging of the skin pores. Eating more of a balanced diet that gives you all your daily vitamins and minerals you need help build and keep your skin healthy and free of bacteria causing the skin pores to clog.

There are different types of treatments to kill the bacterium that causes acne. One of the common treatments is over the counter medication. These are topical treatments that specialize in cleaning deep down in to the skin pores. Acne cleansing facial soap for different skin types such as dry and oily. There are also astringents that are alcohol based to clean the surface area of the skin. This too helps unclog your pores. But one of the most important treatments is the Benzoyl Peroxide that is found in prescription antibiotic creams. This is the active ingredient that kills the bacteria that causes acne but does not necessarily mean that you will always need a prescription. The over the counter acne creams that have the Benzoyl Peroxide ingredient but with a lesser percentage of strength, it is still qualified to kill the bacteria causing acne.

The severity of the acne can be great and in these cases are typically hereditary. The best treatment for this type is by seeing a dermatologist. The dermatologist can offer several different treatments to cure acne. One of the treatments can be a prescription ointment with the highest percentage of benzoyl peroxide or a very strong oral antibiotic. In some severe cases both treatments can be used together killing the bacteria not only from the outside but from with inside as well. With growing technology, one of the ways to treat acne is called Microdermabrasion. This is a cosmetic treatment that removes dead skin cells and helps to open the pores of your skin to keep them hydrated. This helps keep the pores of your skin from getting clogged and allows the bacteria debris to escape the pores.

Myths about acne die hard. Old wives’ tales about its causes continue to persist, in spite of scientific condition to the contrary. This article aims to shed light on some common myths about acne and attempts to separate fact from fiction. Myth 1: People who have acne are unclean and maintain poor hygiene There is absolutely no truth to this statement. Acne is caused by a hormonal imbalance in the body. When the oil glands responsible for keeping our skin waterproof and moist, over react to produce excessive quantities of sebum, they block the associated hair follicle, causing clogged pores, which develops into acne. So hygiene has absolutely nothing to do with it. In fact unnecessary scrubbing of the skin can exacerbate the problem. Do take care of your skin though – wash your face gently and pat dry. Click for All Natural Cure For Stopping Acne In 3 Days! Myth 2: Eating the wrong foods will lead to acne The fact is that there is no co-relation between what you eat and acne. The chocolates, the French fires, the cheese pizza, and all those other fatty foods that have been lambasted ever so often, because of their unhealthy consequence have no affect whatsoever on your skin. However, eating a well balanced diet makes sense. So while you don’t have to be concerned as to whether your favorite treat affects your skin, do remember that it does affect your overall health. Myth 3: Acne is caused by stress The truth is that the stress that most of us experience as part of our day-to-day existence does not lead to acne. Sometimes, acne can arise as the side-effect of drugs taken to treat severe stress. Talk to your doctor to find out if your stress medication is responsible for your acne. Click for All Natural Cure For Stopping Acne In 3 Days! Myth 4: Acne is a merely a cosmetic disease Well, acne does affect the way you look and yes, it is considered a threat to your physical well being. However, the fact remains that in some cases acne can lead to permanent scarring which is more than just purely cosmetic. Acne affects people psychologically. It is known to affect their perception of themselves, their self-esteem and confidence and their interaction with others. It can cause feelings of frustration, depression and social embarrassment. Myth 5: Acne will take the time it will take to heal With the kind of products that are available in the market today, there is no reason why anyone should have to suffer the agony caused by acne. The fact is that acne can be cleared up with the right medication. Consult your dermatologist if you have acne. Click for All Natural Cure For Stopping Acne In 3 Days!br

How to Reduce and Treat Acne

How to reduce and treat acne is a problem for people of all ages, especially children. To dispel any rumors, here are 8 common myths dispelled associated with acne. #1. Acne is caused by oil in your skin, not by the dirt on your face. Therefore, the more you clean your skin, the better your acne will get is a false assumption. While it’s important to cleanse your skin twice a day, cleaning more than that can overly dry your skin. Many experts believe cleansing all the time will actually worsen the condition. #2. Consuming fatty foods will worsen your acne. Specific food groups, such as fast food and chocolate, should not trigger breakouts; however, some people have breakouts due to reactions from certain foods. If you break out after eating a certain food, avoid it in the future. Your overall diet also contributes to skin health. Click for All Natural Cure For Stopping Acne In 3 Days! #3. The notion that stress causes breakouts is an erroneous one. Research has shown that breakouts are not triggered by stressful situations. If you experience acne problems before a big or stressful event, take note of what you do with your hands. Sometimes leaning your face on your hands can cause a breakout. #4. While acne may clear up on its own, most people are under the false impression that acne only afflicts teenagers; however, anyone from babies to women in their 40’s can experience acne. If your method of treatment does not help, seek the advice of a dermatologist. #5. While covering pimples with make-up may make them worse, as long as you use the right make-up, it should not cause breakouts. Buy make-up which has a chemical free base. If possible, avoid make-up until the acne dissipates. Just like food, different ingredients in make-up can cause a reaction and result in a breakout. Click for All Natural Cure For Stopping Acne In 3 Days! #6. Pimples go away after you pop them. Never, ever pop a zit. Contrary to popular belief, squeezing pimples can make them worse rather than better. Popping a zit can cause infection, increase the likelihood of scarring, and slow healing. #7. The notion that if one type of medication or topical cream doesn’t work; you have to live with acne. There is more than one way to treat acne. If one method doesn’t work, keep trying. Also, it sometimes takes a while for any non-prescription medication or topical cream to work. Don’t worry if a treatment doesn’t work after a week. #8. A tan can clear up acne. While a tan may make acne less visible, it will do nothing to clear up a breakout. Regular tanning can make your skin look old much faster as well as promotes skin cancers. The permanent damage you cause is not worth decreasing the appearance of pimples. It is advisable to stay out of the sun during an acne breakout. The Main Cause Of Acne – Sebum

Sebum plays the biggest role in formation of acne. If there were no sebum, there would be no acne. To know more about how sebum is responsible for acne and what role it plays, let us study more about how acne forms.

Acne forms near the opening of the sebaceous glands that have hair follicle in them. In normal circumstances, the cells that form the wall of the gland exfoliate from the pore opening. Sometimes, these cells become dysfunctional and instead of exfoliating normally, block the pore opening. This block stops the sebum going out on the skin.

In the meantime, the glands keep producing sebum and if hormonal disturbance is present, the glands produce sebum at a higher rate. This sebum keeps filling the gland sac. That is the beginning of acne.

A bacterium called Proprionobacterium acnes (P. acnes) thrive in the atmosphere that is full of sebum and no air. This bacterium infects the gland. At this stage when the bacteria are flourishing and causing inflammation, the gland is producing more sebum and the pore is blocked, the gland becomes very infective and full of dead cells, bacteria, pus and dead skin. This is what we call as a pimple. When a pimple gets much bigger, it is called a cyst. Now you know that acne is mainly caused by blocked sebum and infection inside the sebum. Let us know more about how and why sebum is produced.

The Latin meaning of sebum is fat. You find that your hair becomes oily if you leave it unwashed for few days, isnt it? That is because of sebum. Sebum is produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin. From there sebum comes out and coats the hair follicles. Traveling through the hair, sebum reaches the surface of the skin. There it mixes with other lipids and sweat and forms a coating on the skin. Sweat, lipids and environmental dirt are other ingredients of the oil on the skin. This oil protects skin from bacterial infection. It also reduces the natural water loss from the skin.

The density of sebaceous glands varies. Sebaceous glands are found most on the forehead, chin and middle portion of the back. That is why most acne is found on these places. Sebum production decreases with age. . Sebum production increases suddenly at the time of puberty. In women, it reduces substantially after menopause. Adult females produce less sebum than men. By reducing sebum production, acne can be cured. Sebum production can be controlled by various medicines.

Being affected by acne during puberty is very common therefore people do not take it very seriously. While it is true that outbreak of pimples and whiteheads is a part of growing up and physical changes, we must take some treatment if the problem is persistent. Treating acne naturally is not as difficult as it seems. In fact it is often more about changing your lifestyle than taking some medicines.

Acne erupts when sebaceous glands under the skin start producing more sebum than our skin can release. This happens due to several reasons like hormonal imbalances, genetic factors or excess oil in the body. This skin situation aggravates when we take OTC creams without understanding our requirement. Normally OTC creams are meant for very minor pimples which do not require any medication anyway.

Natural acne cure on the other hand is made of herbs and natural ingredients that have been used for hundreds of years. These herbs are mixed in such a perfect combination of other ingredients that the efficacy of final solution is enhanced many times. As there is no risk of any side effect you can use these solutions for general skin care as well. You can speed up the treatment by eating vitamin rich foods and drinking a lot of water.

Instead of going for costly laser treatment and other surgical methods, trying natural acne cures at home is more cost effective. Not only do you save a good amount of money but also remain free of side effects that may result from surgical processes.
