Retinoids. Retin-A comes in cream, lotion or gel and is effective. It helps to fade marks on your skin which is the result of earlier pimples.
Antibiotics. There are 2 kinds of antibiotics for acne treatment. One of it requires you to apply on the surface of your skin and destroys bacteria on the skin surface. Common antibiotics that are used for this purpose are erythromycin and clindamycin. Another kind requires you to take it from the mouth and destroy bacteria that contribute to acne.
Oral Contraceptive. This prescription reduce the oil that is produced by the skin by diminishing the effects of male hormone androgen.
Accutane. It is usually for severe acne case because it is a powerful drug that might cause side effect and has a high price. It decrease the amount of sebum produced, makes the oil glands smaller, kill bacteria and reduce the shedding of skin cells.
Although these acne treatment are effective, it is important to treat your acne with natural healing process such as eat healthy foods, exercise regularly and drink more water (my favorite). These natural healing processes will prevent future acne problems and help you to recover quicker and easier. Prescription might work effective by it brings side effect to your body which might only be seen many years later.
