Following Acne Skin Care Regime

The basic fallacy about acne skin care that most of the people commit, is to understand the role played by the skin in the human system in isolation. God has created a total, complete and perfect machine in the form of human body and he has covered it with skin for valid reasons. When something is wrong with the parts (organs) inside, the complaint regarding their malfunctioning is reported through the skin.

The digestive organs only react to what we have given to them. Their reporting system is fair and without any blemishes. The combination of rich carbohydrates and protein in great number forces the toxins to the surface of the skin and form acne and pimples. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that if you apply some lotion or balm and in the process some pimples disappear, do not think that you have achieved something.

A host of other pimples are readying themselves for the attack on the surface of the skin, they may however change the strategy and appear on other parts of the body. Because, the royal battle is going on within, on the part of the affected body.

As a natural healing process of skin, the post inflammatory acne changes start surfacing. By adopting some medical and herbal practices you can speed up this healing process. The understanding and knowledge about the type of acne is important in the treatment of acne. Also, constant exposure to the sun can cause severe skin damage and delay the healing of your acne. Thus wear a good sunscreen and be protective to heal your acne.

Common skin problems include rashes, acne, blackheads, whiteheads, dry and oily areas, reddish-brown blotches. In acne conditions, skin care is not only its external medication, but we have to clearly understand and be conscious about the food intake- foods that aggravate the condition and foods that benefit. The former are acid producing foods. In the later category come minerals, especially iron-rich foods.

To say something about one of the ancient remedies prevalent in most of the Indian households? the juice of raw papaya, being an irritant is useful in several skin disorders, including acne. It is applied with beneficial results to swellings to prevent pus or warts and pimples formation. The juice as cosmetic, removes freckles and brown spots due to exposure to sunlight.

It is worth mentioning certain simple aspects and instructions to understand and follow a good acne treatment regime.

1. Avoid tight clothes, they are known to cause body acne by trapping sweat.
2. Use a sun-blocker by wearing a hat.
3. Dab the face dry, carefully. Do not apply pressure.
4. Use make up that do not clog the pores.
5.Think well before buying any over the counter products. Be even more careful, if they are introduced recently in the market.

Let your skin not be the experimenting ground for the product. It is better to go by the advice of the dermatologists in these matters.

Oily Skin Facts, Its Correlation to Acne, and Proper Skin Care For Oily Skin

How Oily Skin Occurs, Its Effects and How to Care For Oily Skin

Oily skin is caused by overactive sebaceous glands. These glands produce an oily matter called sebum. When glands are overly productive, the excess sebum present in the gland sacs promotes bacteria called Proprionobacterium acnes to flourish. Sebum also clogs pores resulting in bacteria proliferation. This is how acne occurs.

This is where skin care can get tricky. People who have severely active glands want to remove excess sebum, but it is easy to get carried away and to be overly aggressive. Stripping skin of all its natural oil is actually counter productive. Glands will produce more sebum because skin is being deprived of oil.

Ideally, skin care should remove excess oil without triggering more production. Bearing this in mind, here are important cautions and steps:

1. Be careful not to cleanse too often or too harshly. Avoid any products with alcohol.

2. Use tepid water because hot water strips your skin of moisture.

3. Use a nonalcoholic based toner to remove traces of dirt, oil and makeup.

4. Exfoliate weekly. Exfoliation, when done correctly, will clear dead skin cells and unclog pores to prevent future breakouts.

5. Be sure to check skin care products labels and list of ingredients. The product should be oil free and noncomedogenic (won’t clog pores).

6. Chose a moisturizer that has been specifically formulated for oily skin. Again, look for noncomodegenic products.

7. Weekly use of a clay mask can help clean deeply into pores and removes dead skin cells.

8. Use a noncomodegenic sunscreen daily that is specifically made for skin with excess oil.

There are other factors that play an additional role in the production of excess oil such as inheriting poor genes. But with proper skin care, oily skin can be controlled.

The true blend of makeup and skin care

Skin care and make up are regarded as one of the strongest points of women, these days men have resorted to makeup but it is not at the same pace as women have a separate unachievable stance on makeup. Makeup looks great on good and healthy skin, it would be worth cherishing if you work on makeup and skin care together at a time. Some of the ways in which you can work well on both skin care and makeup are as follows when you buy the different makeup brands like Dermalogica, Abba, Babyliss, etc it is important that you always keep in mind the type of skin you have. Look out for the ingredients on the different makeup products and if you find ingredients to which you are allergic then ensure that you do not pick up that product, because skin comes first as it is the most visible portion of our body. Ensure that you avoid the products with high chemical composition. Test the products on a small portion of your body, see how it reacts if there are no harmful effects then ensure that you buy good branded product. Cleanliness is the first and foremost step in any form of personal care, ensure that you keep all your makeup products neat and clean. Keep track of the expiry date; there are some Vitamin C products that get spoilt before their expected life itself if not stored properly. Nail care has gained immense popularity these days, hence it is important that you use good quality nail polish and after you are done with the cleaning and polishing, it is good to rub the cuticle oil at the edges of the nail. It is good to remember that you need to buy different makeup products for different events as we all know that we will not put on the same makeup in the day as we do it at the night parties, or we will not apply the same makeup for a beach party as we do it for a rocking dance party’s. If you have deep set eyes then it is better that you use liquid eyeliners than a pencil, as this will prevent smudging. Ensure that the eyeliner is not too dark as it will make your rest of the make look overdone. Foundations are like magic; ensure that the foundation is of the same color as your skin tone. Incase you have skin disorder like acne then ensure that you do not use too much of chemical based makeup, as it may be a heavy toll on your soft and supple skin. Powder should be used to make your skin look soft, too much of powder will look awkward and ensure that the powder blends well with the rest of the makeup. The biggest mistake that women can commit is to sleep with the makeup on, it is very important that you remove makeup in the night with water and it is important that you also use a mild makeup remover. This is an unforgettable quote to keep your skin soft, lively and cherishing. So, blossom together with beautiful makeup and glowing skin.

Acne Skin Care Treatment Goals – Is Chocolate A Cause?

Acne Skin Care usually involves continual treatment of skin even after the acne goes away. It can form on the head, back, or chest and is caused by the blockage of pores by excessive sebum production from your sebaceous glands. Acne is not caused by eating chocolate or greasy foods although oils and grease that land on your face can irritate acne and make it look worse. Nor is it caused by stress but of course stress can make it look worse.
It’s not recommended that people pop their acne but sometimes it’s hard to ignore. If you do decide to pop, thoroughly wash your face and hands, and find a needle to lance it. Be sure to sterilize the needle with alcohol or heating it over a lit matchstick. Pierce the pimple and gently squeeze until it runs clear or you see blood. Wash everything again and let it alone.
There are several drug treatments available for acne, that are aimed at four goals: stopping the abnormal clumping of cells within follicles, stopping increased oil production, reducing bacteria on the skin, and reducing inflammation that makes acne look so bad.
Over the counter medicines available for the treatment of acne are: Benzoyl Peroxide, Resorcinol, Salicylic Acid, and Sulfur. Benzoyl Peroxide kills the acne causing bacteria, Resorcinol breaks down blackheads and whiteheads, Salicylic acid helps to break down blackheads and whiteheads and also cuts down the shedding of cells in follicles and Sulfur also breaks down blackheads and whiteheads.
Over the counter treatments come in the form of gels, soaps, creams, soaked into pads, or in lotions. They can cause irritation to the skin as well so if you experience burning, or redness after a prolonged use of the treatment, stop using them and consult your doctor.

Herbal Acne Pills – Natural Acne Remedies The Clear Acne – Fast & Often Permanently

Remember the angst ridden acne years of your youth? Or perhaps you are still a youth. By youth, I mean either adolescent or teenaged. So many people today suffer from teenage and adult acne. The effect acne has on your self esteem can be devastating, especially at a young age, when appearance seems so important, and people can be cruel. The nutraceutical acne pill is now changing that scenario for many teenagers, and is also helping many people suffering with acne into adulthood to permanently clear acne.

There are some excellent, and fairly new acne pills that actually clear acne through precise combinations of herbal compounds and pure, natural ingredients. These acne pills have been used as very successful, and often times permanent, remedies to clear acne on both adults and adolescents.

How do acne pills work? Acne pills actually work by correcting the hormonal and chemical imbalances in the body that lead to acne flareups, persistent acne, and the more severe form, cystic acne. People suffering from cystic acne can really benefit from a natural acne pill, since they are designed to treat acne at it’s source, from the inside of the body, rather than topically. Cystic acne sufferers really tend to have hormonal issues, which acne pills address by “calming”, soothing and balancing.

Some of the common ingredients in these complexion-clearing acne pills are actually known in herbal communities for their skin soothing and “calming” properties, and have commonly been used to treat various skin disorders in the past. Natural acne pills actually blend several of these ingredients together in precise combinations to effectively clear acne permanently, or with very little follow up treatment.

Let’s look at some of the common skin clearing and therapeutic herbs and compounds that are found in an acne pill. First, vitamin E is a common ingredient. Vitamin E has been used as a skin soothing and repairing agent for decades. Vitamin E actually will help smooth rough skin when taken in the proper dosages, and actually helps facilitate the clearing of acne in combination with other ingredients.

A second common ingredient in the acne pill is aloe vera. Aloe vera actually has many of the same skin soothing properties and advantages as vitamin E. I’m sure you’ve used aloe vera at least a couple times to treat sunburn or irritated skin. Aloe vera seemed to be a staple in everyone’s home growing up for it’s skin repairing benefits.

Two more ingredients you may find in an acne pill are alpha lipoic acid and collagen, both of which are actually beneficial for both aging skin and skin suffering from disorders such as acne or acne rosacea. Alpha lipoic acid is gaining a lot of recognition in recent years, especially with the publication and advocation of popular cosmetic dermatologist Nicholas Perricone in his book The Perricone Prescription and other popular follow up books on how to stop and reverse the aging process of the skin.

Other skin cleansing, purifying and balancing ingredients botanicals found in the acne pill are chamomile, rosemary, rose essential oil, and horsetail, all traditionally used to clear, tone and purify the skin for the most blemish-free complexion possible, even back as far as the early 1800’s.

The bottom line is, I highly recommend investing in either a natural acne system that combines topical treatment with an oral acne pill or just investing in a natural acne pill that is high in purity standards and has a good track record of customer satisfaction. These treatments have proven to be just as effective as many of the often long-term and sometimes harmful treatments dermatologists prescribe. Not only that, you can order them from the comfort of your own home, and don’t need to be burdened by dermatologist visits, or repetitive costs. It is truly one of the best investments you can make in your skin!

Cause Of Acne – Why Am I Getting Pimples?

Tuesday, 27. October 2009

Medically speaking, an acne sufferer has a combination of components operating in accord, frequently causing inflammation to our face – otherwise called acne.A typical cause of acne can include • Trapped bacteria beneath the skin • Increased sebum • Keratosis retention Increased oil production inside the skin can be a huge cause of acne and can come about from cosmetics, but is commonly brought about by the sebaceous glands. These glands are what make an increased quantity of oil, resulting in acne and pimples. In addition, retention of Keratosis can also cause an overabundance of oil and this occurs when skin cells (that are not cast off) clog the sebaceous ducts. The function of these sebaceous ducts is to eliminate excess oil. Ordinarily, eruptions of acne come about during adolescent years, but can happen with a lot of people at whatever age. Acne is typical in teens, since most of the increases in hormone activity happen inside the skin. Whether it is a teen affected by acne, or an adult, it’s a fact that hormones play major role in breakouts, yet many experts simply shrug off this cause of acne. Male hormones are what mainly cause the increase oil production rather than female hormones. While male hormones have a greater effect, some male and female hormones are really alike. Thus, when hormones are secreted by women during a menstrual cycle, hormones similar to the male hormones cause magnified oil gland activity. As a consequence, many women who are menstruating typically have a much higher chance of getting pimples, blemishes, or acne during their menstrual cycle. Though acne affects a lot of people, certain acne treatments and acne remedies have been shown to be very effective. And some myths, such as there’s no link between diet and acne have been debunked. In the past, doctors would loudly claim there was proof when in fact there is proof showing there is a link and diet can be a direct factor and cause of acne. The very effective acne treatments include the following: Avoiding bad foods such as dairy or refined white sugar exercise getting enough sun light during the day Nonprescription acne treatment and medicines come in the several forms such as facial creams and scrubs, and these not always very effective as treating acne, particularly the more serious cases of acne. The best acne treatment for severe acne or any type of acne for that matter would include natural methods, such as expelling the built up toxins inside of your body.

Vitamins Aiding in the Cure of Acne

There are many different types of acne therefore there are many different acne cures and prevention methods that have been used for years by people all over the world. There is no one particular acne product that can be used to treat and cure all types of acne. In many cases whatever acne products and medication you use for treatment will need to be continued for prevention.
Some forms of acne are mild and can be controlled with mild over the counter acne medications, products, natural and home remedies are often the best treatments and turn out to be cures for many people.
Some forms of acne are a result of more serious illnesses and the best acne treatments are given under the care of a physician. When most people think about acne treatments and cures they think of topical products but there are so many acne medications and natural acne treatment programs that incorporate vitamins in healing acne, however it is important to remember that there is no one vitamin or mineral alone that will cure acne.
Vitamins can be one of the best acne treatments as part of a program where other methods are included. Some of the most popular vitamins and minerals used on the market to treat acne that have also been touted as possible acne cures are as listed:
B5: B5 was a at one time believed to be an acne cure when it is really no more than an acne treatment. It was suggested that one should take extremely high doses. Contrary to popular belief, too much of a good thing is not good at all not to mention how it can damage your body in other ways.
Zinc: There were some studies done in which zinc was quite successful in treating acne but it is by no means a cure. It is one of the best treatments for acne for many people and for many it is not. It is said to work better on some people than tetracycline.
Vitamin E: Vitamin E is wonderful because it gives a boost to the immune system which will certainly aid in the overall health of your whole body and by default your skin. It also regulates vitamin A which is essential in keeping the skin healthy.
There are a series of vitamins that are essential in keeping you healthy but taking one of them without the others is not a cure for acne. Taking one kind of vitamin is not the best acne treatment and will only cause more of an imbalance in your body that will only aggravate your acne instead of healing it. So what ever you do in effort to treat your acne, do so with an open mind.

Acne Scar Treatment – The Benefits Of Using A Laser

Tuesday, 27. October 2009

Source: articledashboard.com

As technology has continued it’s ever increasing march it has had a corresponding effect on all aspects of society its’ effect on the treatment of acne scars is no exception.

Acne can be a terrible emotional and psychology scourge to those suffering from it but when acne finally goes away, many also have to live with the by-product of severe acne and that is the left over scarring. For some, the scarring is worse than the acne because the acne could be treated and would eventually go away but many scars last forever.

Scarring may never go away because acne scars are not on the surface of the skin but their roots are deep down in the skin. For those who decide to invest in skin treatment, acne laser treatment is becoming a more popular and viable solution. On the other hand, it can be a bit expensive but for those suffering from scars if it can help its money well spent.

One of the features that makes treating acne scars using a specialized laser is that results can be seen relatively quickly compared to lotions or ointments that can improve the skin but results are slow. In fact, because the results take such a long time and in many instances are not as effective treating acne scars via laser for some can actually be a less expensive alternative.

Only trained medical health care professionals should administer acne laser treatment so be sure to make sure any clinic you decide to use is fully qualified. The first step in the process of treating acne and acne scarring with lasers is to kill the bacteria that are causing the pimple outbreaks. The next step is to shrink the sebaceous glands, which produce the oil. This helps to ensure that future outbreaks are reduced or even completed stopped in some instances.

In addition to greatly reducing or even preventing acne, acne laser surgery can greatly reduce the appearance of scars. If scarring is bad it will take more than one session to reduce their appearance and it may not be possible to completely eliminate any signs of scarring but for those with light scarring one session can completely remove the scars for some.

Another nice aspect of treating acne with lasers is that there are no known side effects and while being treated there is little or no pain during the sessions which normally take less than an hour to complete.
